A One-Woman Christmas Wonderland
This year marks our very first Christmas in our beautiful new home in Wivenhoe — and if you know me, you know I’m a massive Christmas fan. The sparkle, the ritual, the coziness, the food… all of it. I’ve always tried to create a little bakery magic at this time of year, but stepping into a brand-new space has meant learning fresh rhythms, tighter timings, and a new routine. And so, with a bit of creative thinking (and a big pinch of festive spirit), the most obvious choice was to bring our Christmas retail offering to The Old Grocery — the most charming, character-filled creative space in Wivenhoe.
If you’ve ever stepped inside, you’ll know exactly what I mean. It feels like the sort of place where stories and gatherings happen. A place that’s held by the community, shaped by artists, and just waiting to be filled with the aroma of freshly baked mince pies. It’s the perfect backdrop for a Victoria Yum Christmas pop-up.
Christmas, for me, has always been about joy — real joy. Not extravagance, not excess, but heart. A token gesture to a kind teacher. A thoughtful treat for a helpful neighbour. A little box of buttery mince pies shared between family. A beautifully curated hamper for someone you love. Food brings people together in such a magical way, and that magic is really all I want to lean into this year.
So that’s exactly what I’m doing.
This pop-up is a one-woman show, created with love (and a lot of late-night baking). I’ll be filling The Old Grocery with:

All handmade, hand-finished, and packed by your very own bakery elf (that’s me).

Alongside our Christmas pop-up at The Old Grocery, I’ll also be keeping our bakery counter at the Business Centre open as normal — serving coffee, donuts, pastries and festive treats with cosy outdoor seating and all the twinkly Christmas vibes.
