At Victoria Yum, we pride ourselves on handcrafting every element of our afternoon teas from scratch — from our freshly baked cakes to our signature sourdough bitesize rolls. Our menu is entirely vegetarian, celebrating simple, thoughtful fillings made with quality ingredients and seasonal produce. We take great care in creating a beautiful, balanced experience that feels both indulgent and personal — perfect for special occasions or just because.
Victoria Yum was established in 2008 and is run by head baker Kiersten. With nearly 18 years of experience in hospitality and baking, she now works from her riverside studio and kitchen in the heart of Wivenhoe. After leaving East London in 2020 for a slower pace of life, she downsized the business to a more intimate, hands-on setting.
Her natural approach to baking led her to supply some of London’s most prestigious food halls — including counters in Harrods, Selfridges, and Fortnum & Mason — and she was the sole cake supplier across all five food outlets within Selfridges. Having experienced some of the finest afternoon teas in the country, she now brings that same care and expertise to each handmade bake.
Quantities To ensure the best quality and consistency, all bespoke afternoon tea orders require a minimum of 12 of any one item. For example, you might order 12 Mini Victoria Sponges or 12 Savoury Squash Rolls — each element is made in small batches, so we can’t mix and match within those quantities.
Booking Terms We require a minimum of 5 days’ notice for all bespoke afternoon tea bookings. Orders are available for collection Thursday to Saturday only, from our studio in Wivenhoe. Your order is only confirmed once full payment has been received.
Any amendments to your booking must be made at least 3 days prior to your event date. If you need to cancel your booking, we also require a minimum of 3 days’ notice. After this time, we will have already begun ordering ingredients and preparing your bakes, and therefore will be unable to offer a refund
